WIGJ

WIGJ (Woman in Games) main purpose is to inspire woman to join the games industry considering that the main stereotypes of games in general is that they are play mainly by the male gender. Most people believe this because the majority of the industry seems like it is aimed towards men with aspects such as violence, sport, fighting etc. Since this exists, this portrays the belief of male gamers believing that woman cannot play games and if they do, they are not skilled at playing that game which is obviously false as gaming takes strategy and skill which woman are fairly capable of handling. They also want to make the characters within the video games seem more realistic and less portrayed and seen on women with the dream figure that everyone wants and desires to have. This can lead to problems in real life which could be easily avoid if the proportion of what the woman look like in games was more balanced and focused on general aspects such as attitude, personality etc.

BAFTA

BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Art) praises media within the games industry in Britain for doing well at what they do. This is things such as art, audio and game-play mechanics, which are all obviously very different things which would increase the chances of different variety to receive awards because it is extremely unlikely for one game to be the best at absolutely everything. This is between big titles such as The Last of Us, Life is Strange, Minecraft and more. BAFTA also hold small competitions between younger gamers where they receive awards and get praised for the hard work they have done and achieved.

ELPSA

ELSPA (Entertainment and Leisure Software Publisher's Association) is a video game rating system and the aim was to establish what is involved within the game and it gives a games age rating. This is discussed and concluded by looking at the aspects that are shown in the game including violence, blood/ gore, strong language and sexual activity. As the games industry developed and evolved over the many years, too many things in the nature of games had changed where ELPSA eventually reinvented themselves as UKIE which has some of both minor and major changes to improve the program making it overall more efficient.
